Holy Trinity Church - visit live site »

The Brief: Holy Trinity Church is a growing, family focused church and wanted a website that communicated this whilst offering the congregation easy access to the information they need on a weekly basis. Accessibility was important as was a friendly, inviting image that would give the impression of a church where everyone is welcome. The content was mainly static but some elements such as weekly notices, sermon downloads, what's on etc.. needed to be content managed by the church

The Solution: I chose a bright and vibrant colour scheme for the site, using a child dancing in the banner to give the immediate impression that this is a family friendly church. The site was built in accordance with WC3 guidelines on accessibility and tested by a visually impaired member of the congregation to ensure it's usefulness to everyone.

In order for the site to be updateable by the church with weekly notices etc.. I developed a very basic content management system with an emphasis on simplicity made specifically to perform the functions that they requested and without any confusion. At the request of the leadership, a youth forum was also set up based around a Wordpress blog where the young people can write posts, comment, post videos or pictures and generally interact with each other and the church (the image below shows the blog page with a test post before it went live).
